Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT

An extremely tiny ultra-wide lens (weighed only 125g) for Micro Four Third cameras. This  10mm Zero-D lens pairing with  f/2 large aperture handles different shooting situations easily. Offering a 96° Angle of view and equipped with 46mm filter threads, no matter using for landscape, astrophotography or architecture photography, the lens is always able to produce impressive results without any extra burden.

The lens also equipped with a CPU chip and motor. You can now control the aperture in-camera and record all the metadata in the EXIF. It will be also perfect for vlogging, drones and other lightweight videography setups.

Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is an ultra-wide & ultra-fast prime lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of around 20mm ( 96° Angle of view ). With the enthusiastic response for the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT and 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D, we decided to take a step forward to a longer focal length but retain and further refine the outstanding optical design.

Super Light and Compact

Its compactness i.e. 41mm (1.61”) long and 125g (4.4oz) in weight makes itself comfortable for those who do videos with gimbals or handheld, avoiding excessive shaking. With the versatile focal length and such portability, it would be the perfect set-up for outdoor shooting, vlogging and flying with drones.

Auto Aperture

The 10mm is assembled with a CPU chip and motor which the photographers can adjust the aperture via the camera body. The focus magnifier will be triggered for easier focus while rotating the focus ring.

Fast Aperture

Designed with the ultra- fast f/2 aperture, sharper images can be obtained in dimly lit settings which is advantageous in nightscape shooting and astrophotography. It also provides a greater flexibility in camera setting like maintaining a low lSO in low-light condition.

Zero Distortion

Being the second MFT lens in the line-up of “Zero-D”, it retains the excellent performance on the optical distortion control, which is commonly found in ultra-wide-angle lenses. This lens would be perfect for architectural shooting.

10-point Sunstars

Designed with five aperture blades in the 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT, photographers can create perfect and fancy 10-point sunstars by stepping down the aperture.

Close Minimum Focusing Distance

The minimum focusing distance is 12cm long. With such a close distance, an exaggerated perspective and smooth bokeh can be created easily.

Size Difference between 7.5mm, 9mm and 10mm

Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is the smallest MFT lens in the Laowa UWA lenses.

Venus Optics Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D Overview

Ultra wide and ultra compact, the Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D from Venus Optics is a Micro Four Thirds prime lens characterized by its sleek form factor and impressively broad angle of view. The portable design makes it particularly well-suited to drone and vlogging applications and the wide-angle field of view is ideal for architecture, landscape, interior, and astrophotography subjects.

As a Zero-D lens, distortion is very well-controlled and the optical design uses aspherical and low dispersion elements to minimize a variety of aberrations for high sharpness and clarity. It has a manual focus design, with a minimum focusing distance of 4.7", and a built-in CPU and motor permit intuitive camera-based control over aperture settings. Additionally, a petal-shaped lens hood is also incorporated into the lens' design to reduce flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions.

Ultra wide-angle prime is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a 20mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/2 maximum aperture is well-suited to working in low and difficult lighting conditions.
Rectilinear design renders subjects with minimal distortion in order to suit landscape and architectural applications.
Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color neutrality.
Two aspherical elements limit spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and controlled distortion.
Manual focus design offers a minimum focusing distance of 4.7".
Five-blade diaphragm produces distinct 10-point sun stars when working with smaller aperture settings.
Integrated CPU chip and motor enables camera-based control over aperture settings and also transfers Exif data for recording lens setting metadata.
Built-in petal-shaped lens hood shields the lens from stray light to reduce flare and ghosting and also protects the front elements from accidental impacts.
